YA GIRL'S FIRST YOUTUBE: PROPER PLANKS!

Okay, so I've been doing planks wrong my entire athletic career (apparently).


I have a quick story that you just might relate to!


It wasn't until I took a workout class from an instructor friend in NYC that I really learned how to plank properly. Now this was like a year after moving to the city? (I wasn't as immersed in the fitness scene as I am now.) But as a D-2 athlete... how was I doing this wrong?? HELLOW. Who was letting me get away with this ish!?

It might have partly been me, I hated planks.


I remember looking up at my friend during this class and saying this isn't even hard and he responded, shift forward and do it right" ...that cue changed my world haha. It was the smallest note but it made the biggest difference.


So if you're a fellow "I hate planks" person like I was, I get you. However, now I know that the plank isn't just a rude exercise trainers/coaches make you do. It's the foundation for SO many other movements. If you have a strong plank position (yeah, you thought I was going to say "strong core" but I said plank position) you will be able to do SO SO many things.


In honor of that moment during class, I made a short YouTube video on how to perform a proper plank position. It also goes through some of the mistakes I see in classes slash I was making.
